Born into a creative family in the English Midlands, Rachel’s work builds on aspects on the Arts and Crafts movement and Pre-Raphaelitism. She is skilled in acrylic and oil painting and is influenced by the work and methodology of contemporary Classical painters .

Working to a high level of finish, Rachel paints beautiful portraits that express the mood and the

ambience of your special day and ensure unforgettable memories are captured forever in paint.

Rachel brings a background in business and financial management to Dearlove Studios and ensures the venture runs smoothly and efficiently.

Based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, Dearlove Studios is owned and operated by Rachel Huston. Rachel studied at Ilam School of Fine Arts where she majored in Painting and graduated in 2023 with First Class Honours. Rachel has many years of experience working in naturalistic portraiture and brings a strong and diverse set of skills to event painting.
